(On the menu: Vegetable Soup, Cornbread, Apple Cider and Halloween Treats.) Halloween costumes are optional, but welcome and will certainly add to the fun!!

In our final COSMOS SIG we’ll learn more about the planet Venus. Venus, known as Aphrodite in Greek Mythology, was regarded as the Goddess of Love. Roman mythology also regarded Venus as the Mother of Rome. Venus is sometimes referred to as Earth’s sister.  We know more about Venus than our ancient counterparts and we know that Venus is very different from Earth. In the first episode we’ll learn about some of those differences and how some are attributable to our home planet’s ability breathe. Yes, the Earth does breathe!!

In the second episode we’ll hear about one of the greatest human accomplishments, The Library at Alexandria. Construction began in the 3rd century BC and the Library flourished until 391 AD. So much knowledge that had been carefully gathered over centuries was lost when the Library was destroyed. Some of that knowledge has been rediscovered in the centuries since, but still we  must wonder at what was lost that may never be known again. The final episode includes some new information and  a brief look back at some of the people and topics covered in previous episodes. The series is beautifully and appropriately concluded with Carl Sagan’s “The Pale Blue Dot.”

Because each episode stands on its own with different subject matter, it’s not necessary to see all the episodes to follow the series. But, each episode is packed with information and all episodes are beautifully done and entertaining, so attend all if you can.

Note:  This is the final COSMOS SIG meeting. Hope all of you have enjoyed it!

We’ll have a greeter at the front door till 6:05. After that, late entrants may call the phone number posted on the door for admittance. Hope to see you there!!

In our fifth COSMOS SIG meeting we’ll travel to Nova Scotia to learn about the Permian world, and to Siberia to learn about the causes of the “Great Dying” – the extinction that was “…the closest life on Earth has ever come to annihilation…9 out of ten of all species of plants and animals died off.” As we learn about the distant past, we come to realize that “we’re a species of amnesiacs  trying to learn who we were and what happened before we awakened.” Once more we’ll learn about some of the people who contributed to our awakening, people like Alfred Wegener and Maria Tharp.

In the second episode we’ll learn about the civilization of Uruk (now Iraq) where the concept of a city was developed; and about the Akkadian Princess, Enheduana, the first person in recorded history to sign her name to a written work. Enheduana dreamed of immortality as did Gilgamesh, whose epic story of heroism has been retold as many of the stories that reside in the Bible. Noah’s Ark is an example of a story first told by Gilgamesh. Gilgamesh,  dreamed of immortality and he lives on today thru his epic writing. We’ll learn about the possibility of real arks that may have delivered life to Earth.  We’ll hear several theories about how life on this planet may have originated – including the possibility that life came to Earth from Mars, Venus or some distant star system. We’ll hear how the Nakhla Meteorite supports that theory. We’ll  see old newsreels from 1946 about Project Diana – when Earth sent its first message into interstellar space. Finally, we’ll consider our current responsibility to ensure that human life continues long after our beloved Earth is no longer habitable.

Because each episode stands on its own with different subject matter, it’s not necessary to see all the episodes to follow the series. But, each episode is packed with information and all episodes are beautifully done and entertaining, so attend all if you can.

September 10, 2014 (Wednesday) – Megalithic Anachronisms: The Mystery of Ancient Impossibilities in Massive Stone Architecture

Join us Wednesday September 10, 2014 at 6:30 PM for “Megalithic Anachronisms – The Mystery of Ancient Impossibilities in Massive Stone Architecture“ presented by Jim Patterson.

Back by popular demand is a presentation made in the early days of LES in May 2011.  Catch this 2nd edition now before another 3 years goes by!

In this compelling session you’ll be shown a large number of examples of ancient megalithic (monolithic stone) architecture from around the world that shows ancient man was far more advanced than what we’re taught in the history books.

You’ll see . . . .

  • Exactly why the pervasive granite, diorite and andesite statues and stones cut throughout the ancient world cannot be hewn by copper chisels or pounding balls as claimed;
  • Stones cut, shaped and finished by the ancients that are so hard we, as modern man, have to use very recent technology (hardened steel and diamond cutting tools) to begin to replicate them;
  • Constructions containing stones up to 900 tons that we’ve only just been able to lift and move within the last 50 to 100 years of technology;
  • Stone joints that are so tight and stone surfaces that are so flat they scream “space age precision”;
  • The failed modern attempts to replicate the skills of the ancients.

The ancients were Masters Of Stone – phenomenal quarrying, cutting, transporting, lifting, fitting and finishing capabilities that plainly show the simple explanations of archaeologists (with no engineering knowledge) fall far, far short of reality.

Special Interest Group (SIG) – Tuesday September 2, 2014: COSMOS & Camaraderie

Ancient History, Conspiracy, Cosmology, Geology, History, Philosophy, Science Comments Off on Special Interest Group (SIG) – Tuesday September 2, 2014: COSMOS & Camaraderie

Tuesday, September 2nd @ 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm

NOTE: This group does NOT replace our regularly scheduled 2nd and 4th Wednesday presentation meetings. For more information on SIGs, please check out the SIG link.

This SIG is FREE for all Pre-Paid LES Members! Others are invited to attend for $5 per meeting to help cover the cost of food and drink. All are welcome! (On the menu: Pasta salad with almonds and sun dried tomatoes, bread and butter, and cheesecake!)

In our third COSMOS SIG meeting we’ll learn about a tiny creature who has survived all the previous mass extinctions on Earth, and who outnumber humans a billion to one –  the tardigrades. We’ll also hear about a secret the plants know that science is still trying to understand.  Mastering that secret would totally eliminate the need for any other fuel to power the entire planet! We’ll hear about how the ancient Greek philosophers, Thales and Democritus, helped to change the worldview of  government, God and our place in the universe. We’ll also visit a very strange place deep underground, Super-Kamioka.

In the second episode we’ll learn about a conspiracy “…one of the first times that the authority of science was used  to cloak a threat to public health…”  This conspiracy threatened the well-being of both humans and other living creatures who share our planet. Behind the conspiracy were some unscrupulous and powerful people motivated by something other than the search for truth.  Some truths can be revealed only through years of painstaking research and data collection.  Less scrupulous people sometimes manipulate that data and spin it so that the end result represents something other than the truth.  The conspiracy failed thanks to an unwavering scientist, named Clair Patterson, and those who supported and encouraged his work.  Patterson waged a twenty-year fight against those misinterpretations – and, in this case truth prevailed!  We’re all victors in Patterson’s victory.

Because each episode stands on its own with different subject matter, it’s not necessary to see all the episodes to follow the series. But, each episode is packed with information and all episodes are beautifully done and entertaining, so attend all if you can.

Note:  The final three COSMOS SIG meetings will take place on Wed., October 1; Wed., October 15; and Wed., October 29 from 6:00 – 8:30 PM.

In our second COSMOS SIG meeting we’ll view two more episodes and learn about a secret code embedded in light and sound waves. We’ll learn about the people, who discovered the code and the coincidences (or, were they?) which made those discoveries possible. Breaking those codes yielded some powerful knowledge about the universe.

We’ll also learn about Mo Tzu, a Chinese philosopher and teacher (470 – 391 BC) , who believed in and taught democratic principles-  and Ibn Alhazin (965 -1040AD), an Islamic polymath and philosopher, who laid the groundwork for the scientific method still used today.  One of my personal favorite quotes is from Ibn Alhazen…”Finding truth is difficult and the road to it is rough. As seekers of the truth you will be wise to withhold judgement and not simply put your trust in the writings of the ancients.You must question and critically examine those writings from every side. You must submit only to argument and experiment…and not to the sayings of any person. For every human being is vulnerable to all kinds of imperfection. As seekers of the truth we must also suspect and question…our own ideas as we perform our investigations…to avoid falling into prejudice or careless thinking. Follow this course and truth will be revealed to you.

Because each episode stands on its own with different subject matter, it’s not necessary to see all the episodes to follow the series. But, each episode is packed with information and all episodes are beautifully done and entertaining, so attend all if you can.

July 9, 2014 (Wednesday) – The Incredible 2,000 Year-Old Greek Computer: Antikythera Mechanism

Ancient Engineering, Ancient History Comments Off on July 9, 2014 (Wednesday) – The Incredible 2,000 Year-Old Greek Computer: Antikythera Mechanism

NOTE: Effective June 2014 with our new location, we’re going to move our meetings to the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month.

Join the Louisville Esoteric Society on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at 6:30 PM for our next meeting:   The Incredible 2,000 Year-Old Greek Computer: Antikythera Mechanism“ presented by Jim Patterson.

In 1900 a Greek sponge diving crew discovered the remains of a Roman shipwreck on the floor of the Mediterranean Sea off the coast of the tiny Greek island of Antikythera. Among the treasures brought up by these divers were the most exquisite examples of ancient Greek marble and bronze statues ever discovered. These now grace the halls of the National Museum of Archaeology in Athens. Based on artifacts retrieved it is believed that the shipwreck is from about 100-80 BC (2,000 years ago).

Also discovered and retrieved were lumps of corroded bronze and wood that didn’t appear to be anything of importance. Not until the 1950s did someone notice these chunks of crud stored away in the backroom of the museum were some sort of complex geared mechanism. This was a shock! A mechanism of this sort shouldn’t have existed in the Greek and Roman era.

Since the 1950’s this mechanism has been thoroughly studied using increasingly advanced technologies in attempts to ascertain: Who could have created it? Where was it built – and when? How many gears did it have? What did all the gears do? What was its purpose? Why was it on this Roman ship? How could anyone in ancient Greece or Rome design and actually build such a device? All evidence points to an extremely complex astronomical clock, small enough to hold on your lap! In the modern era, historians believed that early astronomical clocks weren’t even starting to be developed until the 14th century (early Renaissance). Yet here we have a very complex astronomically geared device discovered in an ancient Roman shipwreck of about 80 BC. It shouldn’t be there! It was a treasure to surpass all treasures!

We’ll watch two high quality videos showing the discovery, research, theories of its origins, an amazing hand-built working model, and most incredibly… the superb technologies used in the most recent analysis in 2012 to discover elements of the mechanism never before known. After the videos we’ll share some exciting details about what’s coming up in September of this year to potentially increase the breadth of discoveries of this shipwreck and device. Join us and discover how one unbelievable mechanism is rewriting history.

NOTE: Effective June 2014 with our new location, we’re going to move our meetings to the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month.

We want to thank everyone for coming out to our Open House Wednesday. It was a wonderful, magical event – a huge success! Great friends, fun, food and drink.  🙂  Thanks too to Geshe Kalsang Rapgyal of the Tashi Gomang Dharma Center for consecrating our new home.

Join the Louisville Esoteric Society on Wednesday June 11, 2014 at 6:30 PM for our next meeting:   UBUNTU – From Ancient History to Free Energy to a World without Money“ presented by Logan McCulloch.

Michael Tellinger spent his early years as an esoteric researcher focused upon the topic of ancient civilization and its potential original roots in and around his home country of South Africa.  He incorporated the work of researchers such as Klaus Dona and Zecharia Sitchin in trying to connect the dots between ancient Sumer, the Anunnaki and some fascinating megalithic sites he and others had discovered in South Africa.

He espouses a theory that connects the Anunnaki with ancient and modern priest/king bloodlines and the origins of the human species.  He wrote books including Slave Species of God and Adam’s Calendar.  From that research he branched out and began studying the underlying causes of the continued subjugation of the vast majority of the world population to an elite ruling group.  He coined the term “Contributionism” to describe one potential solution to his theories about the inherent tyranny of money, and its deliberate introduction into human society many thousands of years ago.

Join us for a video interview with Michael and what’s sure to be a spirited post video discussion.

All sincere seekers are welcome.  To help defray the operating expenses associated with having our own facility, cost for attendance is $10. We also offer formal pre-pay memberships at discounted rates. Pick up a brochure at LES HQ for more information about the rates for and benefits of becoming a pre-pay LES Member.

May 28, 2013 – Symbols of an Alien Sky

Ancient History Comments Off on May 28, 2013 – Symbols of an Alien Sky

Join the Louisville Esoteric Society on Tuesday May 28, 2013 at 6:30 PM for our next meeting topic:  Symbols of an Alien Sky ” presented by Logan McCulloch.

This is a video documentary that could change everything you thought you knew about ancient, prehistorical times and how much ancient mythology we have carried into modern times and religious thinking.

Based on more than two decades of systematic research and cross-cultural comparison by comparative mythologist David Talbott reconstructs a cosmic drama when planets hung in the sky close to the earth–an epoch of celestial wonder giving rise to time-honored symbols.

Symbols of an Alien Sky will introduce you to celestial spectacles and earth-shaking events once remembered around the world. Archaic symbols of these events still surround us, some as icons of the world’s great religions, though the origins of the symbols appear to be lost in obscurity.

Cultural history seems fragmented and contradictory. But as demonstrated in this introductory episode, there are also levels of deep agreement between the cultures. According to David Talbott, these “archetypes” allow for a radical reinterpretation of both human and planetary history. Competing regional symbols are aspects of “one story told around the world,” a story both awe inspiring and terrifying.

Perhaps the most compelling discovery comes from the sciences. Independent investigation over the past 12 years has confirmed that the celestial formations Talbott reconstructed—all from historical evidence—precisely match the behavior of electric discharge in the plasma laboratory and in remote space. A convergence of historical evidence and plasma science has occurred. The converging research points to planetary instability and intense electrical events in ancient times. a challenge to some of the most cherished assumptions in today’s theoretical sciences.

This highly visual presentation takes an in-depth look at origins of our symbolic archetypes, and offers new answers to questions about the role of the planet gods in prehistorical times. Why did every ancient civilization celebrate a former “Age of the Gods”, an age claimed to have ended in earth threatening disaster? What was meant by the lost “Golden Age?” Why did ancient sky worshipers refer to Saturn as “the sun?” Why was Venus worshiped as the “Mother Goddess?” And why did both Old and New World astronomers celebrate the planet Mars as a great warrior whose battles shook the heavens? And a thousand other intriguing “Whys”.   (Approximately 78 minutes.)

***  We’ll have a door prize drawing for those in attendance and the winner will get a copy of the DVD!  ***

All sincere seekers are welcome.  A $5 donation is suggested.

Join the Louisville Esoteric Society on Tuesday May 14, 2013 at 6:30 PM for our next meeting topic:  The Klaus Dona Chronicles: Secret World I ” presented by Jim Patterson.

Indiana Jones, the fictional adventurer and treasure seeker introduced in ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’, lit the world on fire with ideas of ancient mystical legends.  But little is known about our true ancient past.  Klaus Dona, an adept researcher on a quest for artifacts, held the world’s first ‘Unsolved Mysteries‘ exhibit to Vienna in 2001.  The over 400 original artifacts on display revealed a forbidden archeology and pointed to lost civilizations whose acceptance would re-write history.  Crystal skulls, ancient world maps, mysterious continents, Atlantean relics, golden space craft, tools that defy modern technology, magnetic pyramids that glow under ultraviolet light, and evidence of giants 25 feet tall!  In this 75-minute documentary Klaus details his findings and shows many rarely seen and highly unusual ancient artifacts from South America and Africa.  ‘The Klaus Dona Chronicles: Secret World I” is the first in a series of educational DVDs that chronicle his adventures and discoveries.

All sincere seekers are welcome.  A $5 donation is suggested.

March 12, 2013 – Has the ‘Hall of Records’ of Atlantis Been Discovered in Giza, Egypt?

Ancient History Comments Off on March 12, 2013 – Has the ‘Hall of Records’ of Atlantis Been Discovered in Giza, Egypt?

Join the Louisville Esoteric Society on Tuesday March 12, 2013 at 6:30 PM for our next meeting topic:  Has the ‘Hall of Records’ of Atlantis Been Discovered in Giza, Egypt?” presented by Jim Patterson.

In the 1930s the “Sleeping Prophet” Edgar Cayce gave a number of readings that spoke of a Hall of Records.  It consisted of one or more chambers somewhere beneath the surface of the Giza Plateau in Egypt near the Sphinx – holding the ancient records of Atlantis and Earth’s even earlier history.  Created in 10,500 BC at the same time the Great Pyramid and Sphinx were supposedly built, its designer and creator was the Egyptian ‘god’ Thoth (Hermes).  He and his fellow Atlanteans escaped the final destruction of their continent and wished to preserve ancient knowledge, wisdom and technology to be revealed millennia later as humanity moved towards a more spiritual life.  This, then, was the story as given in the Edgar Cayce’s readings.

Does ancient or contemporary evidence indicate this Hall of Records might actually exist?  What evidence points to a vast and hidden underground complex of chambers beneath the Giza Plateau?  Has the Hall of Records already been found, but not revealed?  Is this simply a story of fiction – or a hidden reality known by a very few?

Follow us along an intriguing path of mysterious breadcrumbs, looking to uncover the answer to an ancient detective story.  Find out about three different sets of people who independently claimed to find the Hall of Records and what they said it contains.  Are their stories credible or a fabrication?

Fact?  Fiction?  You decide.

Everyone in attendance will have a chance to win one of two door prizes to be given away after the meeting:

  • The book:  “Beneath The Pyramids” by Andrew Collins
  • The DVD:  “Beneath The Pyramids” with Andrew Collins

All sincere seekers are welcome.  A $5 donation is suggested.
