December 8, 2016 – Changes to Louisville Esoteric Society

Uncategorized Comments Off on December 8, 2016 – Changes to Louisville Esoteric Society

Louisville Esoteric Society has lost our lease in Bakery Square due to a business expansion next door overtaking our space.  After a fruitful six years of thought-provoking presentations we’ve decided it’s time for LES to evolve. For the time being we will discontinue our regular twice-a-month public meetings, but may re-start public meetings at some point in the future. If we do, we’ll post a notice here, so you will be aware of our plans.

It’s been a wonderful six-year run.  Thanks to all those who chose to financially and spiritually support our intent to have a private and inspirational location for our gatherings.  Thanks to all those who have taken the initiative to present great topics to our group over the years.  The relationships we’ve formed are invaluable.  It’s you who’ve made the difference!

October 26, 2016 – Naturopathy

Healing, Health Comments Off on October 26, 2016 – Naturopathy

Join us Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at 6:30 PM for Naturopathy presented by Dr. Robert G. Churchman, N.D.

According to Wikipedia:

Naturopathic practice is based on a belief in the body’s ability to heal itself through a special vital energy or force guiding bodily processes internally. Diagnosis and treatment concern primarily alternative therapies and “natural” methods to promote the body’s natural ability to heal. Naturopaths focus on a holistic approach, often completely avoiding the use of surgery and drugs. Naturopaths aim to prevent illness through stress reduction and changes to diet and lifestyle, often rejecting the methods of evidence-based medicine.

Dr. Churchman will hopefully discuss some of the scientific and clinical evidence documenting the efficacy of natural approaches to healing as well as some of the specific modalities he incorporates into his practice.

All sincere seekers are welcome.  $10 for pay-as-you-go attendees; No charge for LES pre-pay Members.

September 28, 2016 – Magicians of the Gods

Ancient Engineering, Ancient History, Megalithic Architecture Comments Off on September 28, 2016 – Magicians of the Gods

Join us Wednesday September 28, 2016 at 6:30 PM for “Magicians of the Gods” presented by Jim Patterson.

Graham Hancock’s 1996 multi-million bestseller Fingerprints of the Gods remains an astonishing, deeply controversial, wide-ranging investigation of the mysteries of our past and the evidence for Earth’s lost civilization. Twenty years later, Hancock returns with the sequel to his seminal work, Magicians of the Gods, filled with completely new, scientific and archaeological evidence, which has only recently come to light.

The evidence revealed in his latest book continues to support the theory of an advanced civilization that flourished during the Ice Age and was destroyed in the global cataclysms between 12,800 and 11,600 years ago. But there were survivors – known to later cultures by names such as ‘the Sages’, ‘the Magicians’, ‘the Shining Ones’, and ‘the Mystery Teachers of Heaven’. They travelled the world in their great ships doing all in their power to keep the spark of civilization burning. They settled at key locations – Gobekli Tepe in Turkey, Baalbek in the Lebanon, Giza in Egypt, ancient Sumer, Mexico, Peru and across the Pacific where a huge pyramid has recently been discovered in Indonesia. Everywhere they went these ‘Magicians of the Gods’ brought with them the memory of a time when mankind had fallen out of harmony with the universe and paid a heavy price.

Jim will present an overview of the book and the evidence presented within – including what Hancock feels caused the global cataclysms that destroyed those lost antediluvian civilizations. As always, we’ll have plenty of time for Q&A discussion.

All sincere seekers are welcome.  $10 for attendees who are not pre-paid members;  No charge for LES pre-paid Members.

September 14, 2016 – How to Protect Your Security & Privacy on the Internet: What You’re Up Against and the Tools to Fight It

Social Paradigm Comments Off on September 14, 2016 – How to Protect Your Security & Privacy on the Internet: What You’re Up Against and the Tools to Fight It

Join us Wednesday September 14, 2016 at 6:30 PM for “How to Protect Your Security & Privacy on the Internet: What You’re Up Against and the Tools to Fight It” presented by Jim Patterson.

While not necessarily traditionally “Esoteric” – still critically important, and presented due to popular demand . . . .

Did you know if you use a Windows computer, every single web site you’ve ever visited since turning on that computer is recorded in multiple secret, hidden files?  And . . . they can’t be deleted even if you know how to find them?  And . . .  deleting temporary internet files and cookies does nothing to erase that history?

Did you know that when you visit a website, there can be 10, 20, 30+ companies who record the fact you visited that site as well as others so they can feed you specific targeted advertisements?  Do you want these companies tracking your every movement while surfing the web?

Are you aware there is incredible 100% FREE software available to you that will protect you and your computer from attacks, viruses, malware, and tracking while you’re surfing the web? You don’t have to spend a dime for years and years of safe and secure web browsing!

Would you want to find out the best practices for not falling victim to spam, phishing & spoofing – endangering your computer and private information?

If this interests you, bring your laptop to the next LES meeting on Sept. 14 and you’ll discover what’s really happening when you surf the web, and lots of tips and free software to download/install to stop the insanity.  We have free WIFI at our meeting room so you’ll be able to download, install and use these tools live and in real time during the meeting.

If you don’t have a laptop, you’ll see exactly how it’s done and get written instructions to take home and use at your leisure. If you can, bring your laptop and power cord and be ready for some real-time tech fun!

All sincere seekers are welcome.  $10 for attendees who are not pre-paid members;  No charge for LES pre-paid Members.

August 24, 2016 – Encounters of a Seeker: the Four Body System, Part II

Cosmology, Multi-Dimensions, Quantum Physics, Spirituality Comments Off on August 24, 2016 – Encounters of a Seeker: the Four Body System, Part II

Join us Wednesday August 24, 2016 at 6:30 PM for “Encounters of a Seeker: the Four Body System, Part II” presented by Harold Cottrell.

Several questions have arisen from Part I.

Why can’t we see the other three bodies?  Are these bodies like a body of water or like the human body?  Do the bodies get fed?  Do the bodies sleep?  If the bodies are asleep and awaken, then what is the light they awaken to—surely it is different than the sun.  If any of the bodies can see, then where is the light that illuminates that which is being observed?  Do all the bodies die like the physical body?

These questions and more will be explored as we continue to understand the ancient teachings of the Four Body System that predates the Babylonians from 4500 years ago.  Once again, we will draw upon Quantum Physics within a six-dimensional universe in our adventure into the possibilities.

Harold Cottrell has a Masters in Mathematics, a former professional Ballroom Dancer, farmer, naturalist,  Seeker of Truth and author of the book, “Just One Generation: Repairing the Past, Learning from the Future”.

Harold is from Hart County Kentucky and has lived in Lexington for 35 years.  Currently Harold lives in Louisville.

August 10, 2016 – Lost Technologies of Ancient Egypt

Ancient Engineering, Megalithic Architecture Comments Off on August 10, 2016 – Lost Technologies of Ancient Egypt

Join us Wednesday August 10, 2016 at 6:30 PM for “Lost Technologies of Ancient Egypt – Advanced Engineering in the Temples of the Pharaohs” presented by Jim Patterson.

In this 60-minute DVD Christopher Dunn presents a stunning stone-by-stone analysis of key Egyptian monuments, including the statue of Ramses II at Luxor and the fallen crowns that lay at its feet.  His modern day engineering expertise provides a unique view into the sophisticated technology used to create these famous ancient monuments.

Using modern digital photography, computer-aided design software, and metrology instruments, Dunn  exposes the extreme precision of these monuments and the type of advanced manufacturing expertise necessary to produce them.  His examination of the mysterious underground tunnels and stone boxes of the Serapeum illuminates the finest examples of precision engineering on the planet.  He also addresses the shortcomings of the orthodox explanation for the quarrying of obelisks, particularly the gargantuan ‘Unfinished Obelisk.’

Providing never-before-seen evidence, Dunn’s research shows that while absent from the archaeological record, highly refined tools, techniques, and even mega-machines must have been used in Egypt.

All sincere seekers are welcome.  $10 for pay-as-you-go attendees; No charge for LES pre-pay Members.
