Join the Louisville Esoteric Society on Tuesday September 24, 2013 at 6:30 PM for our next meeting:   The Georgia Guidestones: America’s Mysterious Modern Stonehenge” presented by Jim Patterson.

In 1980 a mysterious set of huge granite stones totaling over 200 tons were erected and astronomically aligned in Elbert County, Georgia. These stones are carved with a set of ten guidelines for humanity in eight different languages. The grouping is sometimes called “American Stonehenge.” The person or group that commissioned these stones to be cut, carved, raised and assembled is still a mystery today.  Who was behind its controversial message? The New World Order? Occultists? The Illuminati? Rosicrucians? Pagans? Freemasons? Or simply someone who wishes to see a new “Age of Reason?”

For this meeting we’ll watch a brand new independent movie never before presented except by its producer Mike Reser.  Then we’ll review the message on the stones, as well as touch on the main concepts presented in the book “Common Sense Renewed” written by the mysterious individual who commissioned the Guidestones – R.C. Christian.

About the film:

The Georgia Guidestones Movie is a documentary film about the Georgia Guidestones of Elbert County, Georgia, an imposing granite monument cryptically inscribed with ten guidelines for mankind in eight different languages. A wealthy benefactor using the pseudonym “R. C. Christian” commissioned this immense monument in 1979, but his true identity remains a mystery.

The Georgia Guidestones have long been the subject of myth and curiosity from both tourists and locals, and the monument provokes reactions ranging from proud to bemused to irate. This one-of-a-kind landmark is ripe for a film treatment that both documents its strange and fascinating history and reveals the talent, history, and varied personalities of the small town that brought it into being and now shares in its fame and notoriety. The producer has striven to ensure that the story of the Georgia Guidestones is documented and preserved in a way that will entertain, educate, and inspire discussion among its viewers and further encourage the current growing interest in this Northeast Georgia treasure.

In examining the creation, placement, and unique features of the Georgia Guidestones, this documentary delves into the most intriguing questions about the Guidestones: Who is R.C. Christian? Why does the monument exist? How did it come into being? Answering these questions takes the film beyond the site of the Guidestones themselves and into the homes and workplaces of a variety of “key players” and sources, as well as into the quarries and stoneworking facilities of Elberton, Georgia, “The Granite Capital of the World.”  The monument’s mysterious conception and physical creation are dual threads of the Guidestones narrative, and these two primary topics interweave throughout the film.

All sincere seekers are welcome.  A $5 donation is suggested.
