Special Interest Group (SIG) Meeting:

A Deeper Dive Into Multi-Dimensional Reality  –  A Lecture by George Kavassilas

Thanks to Logan McCulloch for presenting a deeper dive into George Kavassilas’ model of multi-dimensional reality in our Universe.  On Sunday, October 2nd we viewed a DVD of a complete lecture by George.  Also covered in the lecture was a larger narrative that included cosmological and Earth history, the nature of waveform light energy in universal experience and creation, current and future planetary changes, and a vision for the birthing of humanity as a race of sovereign, universal creators.  Traditional paradigms of the nature of reality were examined and challenged.

Thanks to those that joined is for this Special Interest Group (SIG) presentation!

September 27, 2011 Discussion – “A Course in Miracles – An Introduction”

Consciousness, Spirituality 1 Comment »

Another amazing turnout on Tuesday September 27, 2011 for our discussion group topic, “A Course in Miracles – An Introduction” – presented by Carmen Cameron! Carmen shared her personal story and  her passion as she  explained what  A Course In Miracles, (ACIM)  has meant in her life and in the lives of many others.

ACIM is an acknowledged spiritual classic, a completely consistent spiritual thought system that clarifies the individual’s relationship to God, to the body, and to the world and all its inhabitants. ACIM was channeled by Dr. Helen Schucman, and transcribed by Dr. William (Bill) Thetford.  Drs. Schucman and Thetford were both clinical psychologists at Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons, from 1965 to 1973.

Carmen Cameron has been teaching ACIM to groups of students for over 15 years now and has presented talks on the topic at two international conferences.  Her mission to help anyone who might be interested in learning more about the valuable lessons and insights offered in A Course in Miracles was so evident in her presentation.

Thanks to Carmen Cameron for sharing her knowledge and passion and presenting this inspirational topic to LES!

September 13, 2011 Discussion – “Can We “Feel the Future”? Evidence, Arguments and Implications”

Consciousness, ESP/Telepathy 1 Comment »

We had our largest crowd to date on Tuesday September 13, 2011 for our discussion group topic, “Can We “Feel the Future?”  Evidence, Arguments and Implications” – presented by Dr. Keith Lyle.

Dr. Lyle shared with us two experiments developed by a  psychological scientist named Daryl Bem of Cornell University.  Dr. Bem’s results were published in a remarkable paper claiming that people’s behavior in the present is partially determined by events that have not happened yet.  In other words, people can allegedly “feel the future” by some unknown mechanism.  Dr. Lyle discussed the evidence for the claim (including some from his own research), the arguments that have sprung up around it, and the implications if it is true.

Keith B. Lyle is Assistant Professor of Psychological and Brain Sciences at the University of Louisville.  He earned his B.S. from Indiana University, his M.A. and Ph.D. from Yale University, and he was a post-doctoral research fellow at Washington University in St. Louis.  In addition to his faculty duties at UofL, he occasionally consults on criminal cases involving eyewitness memory.

Thanks to Dr. Lyle for sharing this intriquing information with LES!
