Join the Louisville Esoteric Society on Tuesday February 25, 2014 at 6:30 PM for our next meeting:   “Immortal Beings on an Evolutionary Pathway, a Spiritist View“ presented by Sheila Van Leyen.

Spiritism is, at once, a science, a philosophy, and a religion.  The teachings, concepts, and principles of all three are interdependently woven into this doctrine of consolation, clarification, and inspiration.

The science of Spiritism studies the existence and nature of spirits, which are nothing more than the immortal souls of men, created by God.

The philosophy, which was derived from a serious study of information received in communications with discarnate spirits, deals with the details of spirit life and the journey of evolution through the process of reincarnation. A natural consequence of that philosophy is the understanding of the role we play in our own spiritual evolution, which is ultimately achieved through the efforts we make to grow, both morally and intellectually.

The religious aspect stems from the moral ties between ourselves, and others, and the direction that Spiritism leads us, toward God, our creator, by helping us to understand life and by teaching us, ultimately, how to develop the ability to love, in the greatest sense of the word.

Spiritism helps us to understand the natural laws that govern that process of evolution. From a moral perspective, we follow the teachings and examples of Jesus Christ, as our model and guide.

In the first part of the talk Sheila will define some fundamentals of Spiritism such as: God, Matter, Spirit, and Life’s purpose.  In the second part we’ll watch an explanatory video on the physiological aspects of mediumship.

Rebecca Geracitano M.A.,CHt.,LBLt., a local Past Life and Life Between Lives regressionist and Susan Covey, a local genealogist, will present the life, work, and legacy of Kentucky psychic, Edgar Cayce; including his unique healing abilities and clairvoyant commentaries on reincarnation, dream work, spiritual growth, and how the Cayce readings have influenced their own lives’ and work.

Join us on Tuesday March 27, 2012 for our discussion group topic, “Is Reincarnation Possible?“, presented by Judy Weber.

This presentation will explore the ideas of reincarnation and karma.  Various Holy Works from different spiritual and religious beliefs will be presented.  The purpose of the presentation is to stimulate new or different thought and simply to open the mind to this age old concept.   What do you believe?

Judy Weber is a student, teacher, and Area Director in the School of Metaphysics (SOM).   She is in her 9th year of study and is completing her dissertation for her Doctorate of Divinity offered by the SOM.   She currently is presiding over the St. Louis, Louisville, and Cincinnati Schools of Metaphysics and is the Treasurer of the National Board of the SOM.

Join us on Tuesday January 10, 2012 for our discussion group topic, “Hidden Hand – Window of Opportunity” – presented by Jim Patterson.

In October 2008 a person calling themselves Hidden Hand began a thread on a discussion forum claiming to be a “generational member of a Ruling Bloodline Family.”  They stated that questions would be answered and insider information given – but only if asked (due to the Law of Free Will).  It was stipulated that the discourse should be approached with “suspended judgment” until after the five day Q&A was complete; then decide the validity or worthiness of the content for yourself.

Several members of the discussion forum were incredulous, attacking and ridiculing the individual.  But for those that chose to follow the guidelines for the Q&A, a vast array of sophisticated messages and wisdom were delivered – challenging us to change the way we think about our reality and this world.

For our January 10 meeting, we will have an interactive discussion about this material.  For the session to be meaningful, however, it’s important that you read it beforehand.  Otherwise, you’ll be limited in benefiting from the topic.
