Hidden beneath the breakdowns of modern society are breakthroughs that herald a radically new human condition.  While most of these breakthroughs are small, yet vital incremental changes, others are clearly significant new capacities that can fundamentally change our lives forever.

When we view these new capacities with ‘evolutionary eyes’ as the culmination of humanity’s 14 billion year journey from the Big Bang to where we are now, the design or pattern beneath the physical world that activates the continuous emergence of greater consciousness, freedom and order in the universe comes into sharper focus.  In essence, we discover the hidden ‘Code of Evolution’.

In the pre-scientific era, this Code has been revealed by mystics for millennia.  Western traditions have alluded to the last days and intimations of a new life after death as ‘a new heavens and a new earth; a new Jerusalem; Paradise’.  Now, in VISIONS, we make visible and viable the mystery of the next stage of human evolution as we present the 21st century’s potential for the next stage of life based on the harmonious use of our new capacities in the spiritual, social and scientific realms.

“I AM,” a prismatic and probing exploration of our world, what’s wrong with it, and what we can do to make it better, represents Tom Shadyac’s first foray into non-fiction following a career as one of Hollywood’s leading comedy practitioners, with such successful titles as “Ace Ventura,” “Liar Liar,” and “Bruce Almighty” to his credit.  I AM recounts what happened to the filmmaker after a cycling accident left him incapacitated, possibly for good.  Though he ultimately recovered, he emerged a changed man.  Disillusioned with life on the A-list, he sold his house, moved to a mobile home community, and decided to start life anew.

Armed with nothing but his innate curiosity and a camera crew, Shadyac embarks upon a journey to discover how he as an individual, and we as a race, can improve the way we live.  Appearing on-screen as character, commentator, guide, and even, at times, guinea pig, Shadyac meets with a variety of thinkers and doers–remarkable men and women from the worlds of science, philosophy, and faith–including such luminaries as David Suzuki, Noam Chomsky, Howard Zinn, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Lynne McTaggart, Ray Anderson, John Francis, Coleman Barks, and Marc Ian Barasch.  An irrepressible Everyman who asks many questions but offers no easy answers, he takes the audience to places it has never been before, and presents even familiar phenomena in completely new and different ways.  (source)

Join us on Tuesday January 10, 2012 for our discussion group topic, “Hidden Hand – Window of Opportunity” – presented by Jim Patterson.

In October 2008 a person calling themselves Hidden Hand began a thread on a discussion forum claiming to be a “generational member of a Ruling Bloodline Family.”  They stated that questions would be answered and insider information given – but only if asked (due to the Law of Free Will).  It was stipulated that the discourse should be approached with “suspended judgment” until after the five day Q&A was complete; then decide the validity or worthiness of the content for yourself.

Several members of the discussion forum were incredulous, attacking and ridiculing the individual.  But for those that chose to follow the guidelines for the Q&A, a vast array of sophisticated messages and wisdom were delivered – challenging us to change the way we think about our reality and this world.

For our January 10 meeting, we will have an interactive discussion about this material.  For the session to be meaningful, however, it’s important that you read it beforehand.  Otherwise, you’ll be limited in benefiting from the topic.

If you plan on attending our discussion on the 10th, please read through the material and come with your questions and observations.  Time-wise, the content will take about 2-3 days to read.  The topics covered in the discourse go way beyond the initial impression you get that it will be strictly conspiracy-related… so stick with it.  You’ll be rewarded with a fascinating trip down the rabbit hole.  It should be a lively evening!

We had a wonderful discussion on Tuesday November 8, 2011!   The topic was,“10 Powers of Dreaming” –presented by Rory Colgan.

Rory presented a film, created by the School of Metaphysics. The film illustrated 10 ways the Subconscious Mind functions.  At this juncture of evolution, as we open the door for intuitive, Spiritual Man, it is important that each one of us uses our inherent resources within our own mind for peace, prosperity, and security, and these 10 functions, like inventing, perceiving, exploration, expression, etc.  in that progression.  Dreaming remains one of the greatest intuitive resources our species has within its grasp, and as we call upon this capability, we will become more intuitive, and more like the influential people documented in the film.

Following the screening of the film, Rory, who is the Director IT of the  School of Metaphysics  in Louisville, led a discussion about dreams and dream interpretation. During that discussion several people shared some of their more fascinating or perplexing dreams. Rory shared his insight and training on dream interpretation but, stressed that the truest interpretation always comes from self reflection.  He also talked about the most common dreams, which coincided with Carl Jung’s research into archetypal dreams across all cultures.

Thanks to Rory for sharing the film and facilitating the wonderful discussion which followed. And, thanks to everyone who joined us in another full house.  We look forward to Rory’s return to LES on December 27  for another presentation!

On Tuesday October 25, 2011 we viewed two episodes of the “Through The Wormhole” – “Is There a Creator? ” and “ Is There Life After Death?” – presented by Janet Rowland.  The “Through The Wormhole” series originally aired on the Science Channel, and is narrated by Morgan Freeman.

“Is There a Creator?” –  It’s perhaps the biggest, most controversial mystery in the Cosmos. Did our Universe just come into being by random chance, or was it created by a God who nurtures and sustains all life? The latest science is showing that the four forces governing our Universe are phenomenally finely tuned, so finely that it has led many to the conclusion that someone, or something, must have calibrated them. While skeptics hold that these findings are neither conclusive nor evidence of a divine creator, some cutting edge physicists are already positing who God may be. Some of the answers are as compelling as they are disconcerting.

“Is There Life After Death?” –  Everyone has pondered the question that strikes at the core of our existence; Is there life after death? What happens to the soul after we die? People who have had near-death experiences claim to have visited the other side before getting yanked back into consciousness. Now some of the brightest minds in science are trying to understand how life can persist beyond the physical and what it might look like. It might be a quantum state based on the fundamental laws of the Universe. Ultimately, it is a journey that struggles to decode the most complicated instrument in the Universe: the human brain.
